What We Do
Our Mission:
The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce will create the foundation for its members by being the leading business resource for networking, advocacy and educational activities. We will work together to create and protect a competitive advantage for business in the Greater Idaho Falls area.
These efforts fall under three categories:
Our Vision:
1. Network - The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce convenes a broad range of regional leaders to address issues that determine our future competitiveness and fuel workforce development, including technology, agriculture, education, multicultural relations, economic development, global health, and community stewardship.
2. Advocate - The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce represents its member's interests on public policies that impact competitiveness and the ability to do business in State of Idaho.
3. Educate - The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce connects its members to the people, information and resources they need to grow their businesses and make a positive impact on the future of Eastern Idaho.
What the Chamber Does:
The Chamber of Commerce is a service institution and an action organization. It provides a medium through which people can take effective action for the progress of the community. It helps create job opportunities through stimulation of industrial and commercial growth. It seeks the improvement of community facilities; streets, highways, parks, schools, marketing facilities, and human resources. It brings conventions, sales meetings and other gatherings to the city. It works toward developing the agriculture industry of the area.
In all of these functions the Chamber of Commerce is serving as a department - a partner - of every business and every professional person in the area.
How the Chamber Functions:
The Chamber of Commerce functions through the working committees of the organization. Careful study is made of the community needs and a program of work is designed. The goal is to create more dollars for more people and to improve the economic welfare of the community. Every member has a voice in determining these policies and projects and every member is needed to work on active committees to get the job done.
